Happy Father's Day

A little late, I know. But Happy Father's Day everyone! We had a fun Father's Day weekend. Saturday we spent the day at the lake with Katie, Jeremy and Anden. We pulled the little boys on the tube really slowly around the lake. They were most fascinated with dragging their hands and faces in the water as we rode along. Then we pulled the big boys in the tube. Kyle got some major air on one wreck as he flew out of the tube and over Jeremy, but luckily no injuries were sustained. Sunday we went to church and then had Kyle's mom and stepdad over for pollo asada burritos and peach cobbler (Kyle's request for Father's Day dinner). Pretty laid back but it was nice to spend time together.

I am so grateful for Kyle and the great daddy that he is to Gage. He works so hard so that I can stay home with Gage and even after his long days of work in the HOT sun, he still spends spends so much time playing with Gage, teaching Gage, reading to Gage, changing diapers, and being an all around great husband and father. I don't know what we would do without him. Thanks for being so great, honey. We love you!

And Happy Father's Day to my Dad too! I have always (okay, maybe with the exception of my interesting teenage years) aspired to be like my dad. He's so dedicated, strong (spiritually, mentally and physically), adventurous, loving, intelligent, thoughtful, frugal, insightful, wise and pretty much fantastic. He's was my best friend before Kyle came along and is still one of my closest confidants. Thanks for everything, Dad!

Then there are my two Fathers in Law whom I feel so lucky to now be related to. Kyle's dad, Steve is so generous, smart, fun to hang out with, kind, and has great taste in restaurants! We wish he lived closer so we could spend more time with him. And Kyle's stepdad, John is so thoughtful, considerate, fun, and quite a conversationalist. And the best thing about all three of our dads is that they are just the best grandpas Gage could ever ask for. We are so blessed.

Of course we couldn't let father's day go by without also giving a little shout out to Gage's birthfather whose hilarious sense of humor we hope Gage inherited. We are grateful that he was so supportive of his girlfriend's decision to place their baby with us and for how much he cared about finding the right family for Gage.
