Check out what my son insisted on using as his "fork" for dinner tonight. Yes, I know tongs are not acceptable cutlery for the refined individual that I am attempting to create; however, there are days when I will let Gage use whatever means he finds necessary if he will just eat what I make for dinner instead of crying for a banana.

Bunko Night-Aloha Style

A few weeks ago I found all the luau decorations for 50% off at the party store, so I was inspired to do the luau theme when I hosted bunko night last weekend. My "tropical" menu was a bit of a stretch as I wasn't very excited about the idea of Kahlua pig or poi, but it went over pretty well and aside from a bit of cheating (ha, ha :) and the fact that I think I was the lowest scoring player, the night was fun. Thanks to all the girls who came. Can't wait to do it again!

Maroon 5 Concert

This week, Kyle and Eric surprised Alysan and I with dinner and tickets to the Maroon 5/Counting Crows concert. We had a blast. Maroon 5 was awesome, Counting Crows was horrible, and the band that opened for them (Augustana) was indescribably weird. But the weather was great and we had an interesting show right in front of us on the lawn. Two old & rather large ladies were totally getting down and shaking their booties hard core while "dancing" to the Maroon 5. One of them kept mussing up her hair, trying to be all sexy while she danced. I believe they imbibed a bit too much. I tried to get a video but it was way too dark.

We determined that the lead singer for Maroon 5 is undoubtedly gay. Eric did the research on his iphone while we were at the concert and has the guy reportedly saying that he "isn't gay but wishes that he were". Huh. Either way, he is a great singer and put on a good show. :)

Labor Day Weekend
